Who should attend?
All employees who may be exposed to asbestos fibres through the course of their employment (builders, maintenance workers, engineers, allied trades etc. – anybody who may or who may inadvertently disturb asbestos or those who work in premises containing asbestos). It is an absolute duty in law for the above group to receive asbestos awareness training (as a minimum).
What you will learn:
The course will enable you to identify when and where you may be at risk from asbestos exposure and to prepare you so you know what to do in the event of an emergency.

- Types, uses and likely locations
- What work you are allowed to do – by law
- What the law requires you to do
- Surveys and their relevance
- What to do in an emergency
- Recognising and dealing with other dangers
Duration: Half Day (usually 08:30 – 13:00)

Assessment and exams
This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual/group discussions. You will be continuously assessed and required to successfully complete a multiple-choice test.
